How To Increase Your Christmas Spirit: Elf On The Shelf's Drive-Thru Magical Holiday Journey

My family and I love Christmas and we are so excited to be able to experience fun and safe events from the safety of our car this year! Elf on the Shelf's Drive-Thru Magical Holiday Journey was exactly what we needed to experience some Christmas magic and start the holiday season full of Christmas spirit and Cheer! Seeing my daughter's reaction, and the spark in her eyes while she was experiencing it was magical. I want to share with you our experience, some tips, and link to purchase tickets so you can experience your own Magical Holiday Journey. I also put together a video to give you a better visual of our journey, which you can find at the end of this post.
This year, Christmas Spirit is running low and the Elves took over the Pomona Fairplex to build more Christmas spirit and repair Santas sleigh with our help. This is the theme of this fun Drive-thru journey that is running now through January 3rd. Before you visit it is recommended you download their custom-made app in order to start your journey! You will hear an elf give audio narration at each scene throughout the experience. Narration is offered in English and Spanish and can be downloaded for iOS and Android devices Download it now . Before entering the journey we had the opportunity to purchase some specialty merchandise like elves, elf clothes, books and even a movie.
Once they scanned our tickets we were ready to experience all the fun. Each member in our car was given a bag with a sheet of paper, a marker, and some treats. We were all encouraged to write a Christmas letter to Santa with these supplies. Make sure everyone in your party gets in on the fun because this will make a wonderful souvenir at the end...trust me! We came to a stop before entering the elf world where some elves measured our Christmas spirit which was checked and kept increasing throughout our journey. The kiddo was also encouraged to join a scavenger hunt to find some not so hidden sleigh bells during the journey. I Won't tell you how many we found but toward the end they asked us how many we had found and Alexia found them all!
Our whole party went through a tunnel where we shrunk to elf size to experience their elf sized enchanted world. We saw elves dancing, playing ball and even fishing! Toward the end we even get to see Santa!
At this point it seemed the journey had come to an end only to have another surprise. We were greeted by Mrs. Clause who gave us our letters written to Santa but printed and shrunken down as an ornament. This was a huge surprise and we were all so happy to see our letters to Santa turned into an awesome keepsake. Towards the end we also had our picture taken in our car. It happened really quickly and with no warning, but lucky for you now you can be ready. Make sure you have your windows down and be ready to say cheese.
Here are some tips before you visit
Expect the journey to be a long one. Ours was about 1 hour from beginning to end with general admission tickets.
Cars are moving very slowly but I took this as a plus because we were able to take it all in and get some great pictures and videos.
Bring some snacks or drinks to enjoy during your journey
Make sure you have 2 phones available. One for pictures and another for the app narration
Mask as required when windows are down or during any interaction with performers from your car
Before starting your journey you have the opportunity to use the restroom (porta potty). After that there are no restrooms available.
They are having a toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots and Children's Hospital Los Angeles but this is optional. You can bring an unwrapped sealed toy and you will be able to drop it off at the end of your experience.
