I knew it! I knew Knott's would hit it out the park with another of their amazing food festivals. Knott's Taste Of Boysenberry Festival did an amazing job with their delicious food, superb safety precautions and highly organized event from start to finish. I continue to be highly impressed with how well Knott's Berry Farm has been able to safely run their food festivals while maintaining that sense of fun and excitement you get when you are at a theme park. They make it so fun I almost forget the rides remain closed! I'm excited to share with you all the details of our visit like food recommendations, safety precautions, and how to make the most our of your visit.
Food
Ok my fellow foodie lovers, I know you are all wondering, so how was the food? I'm going to make a very bold statement and say that this has been the best food festival I have ever been to at Knott's! I wanted to try it all and everything that we tried was delicious. Even my 9 year old daughter had some favorites we had to go back for seconds and you know kids can be very picky with their food. I'm going to share everything we tried and tell you which ones we believe were our absolute favorites.
Sweet
Photo descriptions in order from left to right (first to last if viewing this on mobile phone).
Boysenberry pie slice with whipped cream
Boysenberry bread pudding with a creme anglaise
"Hint of lemon" churro bites with a white chocolate sugar and a boysenberry and chocolate dipping sauce.
Every single one of these was amazing! The pies crust was perfect, the bread pudding had an amazing flavor and the churros... oh the churros! They were crispy on the outside and perfectly doughy on the inside...not to mention the sauce was amazing. Best Churro and sauce combination I have EVER had. We all agreed that all 3 sweets we tasted are an absolute must. All 3 of us loved every single one and could not just choose one.
Savory

Boysenberry BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese
Apple and Chicken Sausage with Boysenberry mustard on a Boysenberry bun
Boysenberry Brisket tater tots topped with crispy jalapeno chips and a Boysenberry aioli sauce
These were all great but we had to oder an extra Brisket Mac and Cheese because Alexia ate all of the first order! This one is an absolute MUST for the kiddos and even us adults. The tater tots were really yummy and always a must because Im a huge tater tot fan and these did not disappoint. They are a big serving and very fulfilling, so one order is more than enough for 3 people. My least favorite out of everything we tried at the park was the apple chicken sausage, so I would recommend skipping this one or leaving it till the
end if you are curious to try it out for yourself.

Elote with Boysenberry mayo, Cotija cheese, butter and tortilla strips
Boysenberry BBQ meatloaf with scalloped potatoes
Shrimp taco with cabbage slaw and a Boysenberry salsa
The Elote was a popular one with all of us so I definitely recommend it! I'm not a fan of meat loaf in general BUT my daughter and husband are and they ate it all up! Shrimp taco was so good I wish I would have had an extra one.

Boysenberry BBQ glazed wings
Boysenberry BBQ beef stew with a biscuit
Boysenberry BBQ beef stew with no biscuit (same as above)
These both were also very yummy! Another MUST is the BBQ beef stew with biscuit! This was another popular dish we all agreed on.
Drinks

Boysenberry and Basil Lemonade
Boysenberry Smoothie
Both are very refreshing options but the Basil Lemonade was a favorite of ours. This one is another MUST!

Boysenberry cosmopolitan
Boysenberry beer
Boysenberry iced Irish cream coffee
All 3 great options...for 21 and over, of course. FYI the cosmo was pretty strong but tasty.
We enjoyed lots of delicious food and unfortunately wish we could have enjoyed more because there were still several things on the food list that sounded amazing.
Want to enjoy as much as possible while staying organized? Here's a list of all the food/drinks available and where you can find them. What will you be trying out first?
Vendors
There were so many awesome vendors that contributed to the fun day we had a Knott's Taste Of Boysenberry Festival and I wanted to talk about some of our favorites.
This vendor has such cute stuff for little girl and we specially loved this Boysenberry Pie hair clip! Isn't it the cutest? So many fun Boysenberry pie items from purses, to hats, to this adorable clip. You can't miss it!
I also loved The Crafty Soaps with their fun and awesome smelling natural handmade soaps. We had to bring a peach one home with us! Want to grow your own Boysenberries at home? Knott's was selling some plants to help you get started. We were very tempted to get some but decided to pass since the only kind of plants I can keep alive are succulents...most of the time.
They also had some awesome special even merchandise. I went with the boysenberry mask that I'm wearing in several of the pictures.
There were crystals, signs, dolls, clothes and so many other awesome vendors you should definitely check out.
Favorite Activities To Do
Besides food and shopping, there were lots of other fun things we got to do! They had a very fun scavenger hunt that helped us walk off all the delicious food and pace ourselves in between tastings. We also loved being able to meet with the characters at a social distance of course, but it was still fun to see them and take pictures with them.
The had a live band, Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies which was so much fun to listen and dance to.
Do you like carnival games? We sure do and we were on the hunt to collect some Squishmallows which my daughter is a huge fan of. We came home with 4 new ones! Not to worry, all carnival games were sanitized after each game...trust me, I paid close attention to this before we decided to play.
Camp snoopy was also ready for Easter and was really fun to explore with the kiddo!
The whole park was blooming with beautiful flowers and great pictures spots!

Safety Is A Priority
Knott's Berry Farms safety measures have been amazing since their very first food festival in 2020 and they continue to hold a very high standard. They have auditory reminders on their speaker system, employees walking around with signs and we even witnessed an employee approach a guest to please pull up their mask while walking...very politely of course. Tables and eating areas are sanitized immediately after someone gets up to have it clean and ready for the next guest...we saw it happening all day. Safe to say they are ON IT! They continue to follow all state, local and CDC guidelines. Here are the continued safety measures they have established to ensure the safety of all guest and you can find all of these listed on their site as well.
Tasting cards are limited each day to ensure proper physical distancing
Upon arrival, guests will be required to enter a temperature screening and security checkpoint at the main gate. You walk right through and a machine scans your temperature so doesn't add any real wait time.
All associates and guests must wear a facial covering while visiting Taste of Boysenberry Festival or the Knott's California Marketplace store locations and restaurants ā masks are not required while sitting at a table or bench to eat
Frequently touched surfaces are disinfected daily and sanitized frequently. This includes but is not limited to cash counters, scanners, EMV readers, pens at cashier counters, register screens, store fixtures, door handles, and shopping baskets. We witnessed it many times at the park.
Signage is present to aid guests in the proper direction of travel and as a reminder to practice social distancing. You will see people throughout the park walking with signs as reminders as well.
Seating is spaced out throughout the Taste of Boysenberry Festival event footprint
Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the event area. They are everywhere!
All associates will be screened, including temperature and symptom checks using CDC guidelines before being allowed on the property to work
Associates have been trained on the importance of hand washing, physical distancing, and overall hygiene
Separate entrances and exits will appear at some store locations and occupancy will be limited.
We had another wonderful experience and we can't recommend this event enough! We arrived right when they opened and left at 8pm. It was a day full of good food and building some wonderful memories. Ready to purchase your tickets? Head on over to Knotts.com to get them before they sell out! #TasteOfBoysenberryFestival
