With Summer right around the corner everyone is looking for fun ways to stay active while enjoying the outdoors and I've got the perfect little gem in the heart of Newport Beach! Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is a 110 acre resort with tons of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Everything is within walking distance and there’s no need to book an overnight stay to enjoy it all. We were invited to a fantastic daycation where we enjoyed a bike ride, watersports, lunch, and a beautiful cruise around the marina. It was a great way to spend time together as a family while staying active. If you're looking for the perfect daycation, you'll definitely want to continue reading this post.

Swimming
The Lagoon at Newport Dunes is the perfect place for a swim the whole family can enjoy. The calm waters of the Back Bay and the beach make it ideal for the little ones to play and enjoy without having to worry about waves. We brought beach chairs, an umbrella and float and had a fun time in the water. They even have beachfront Cabanas conveniently situated close to the water, playground and restaurant. You can rent them over at the marketplace found on property.

Watersports
We were in the mood for adventuring out in the water and lucky for us Newport Dunes has several watersport rentals to choose from over at Moe B's Water Sports. This time we decided to enjoy some Stand-up Paddle Boarding and it was such a blast! It's definitely one of our favorite water activities to do. It’s great fun for all ages and fitness levels and you don’t need experience to ride. Newport Dunes supplies all kiddos under the age of 13 or anyone who can't swim with life jackets to feel safe during the whole experience. Their waveless lagoon is the best place to learn and practice or if you've got some experience, you can even go out further and ride through the upper Back Bay. It's a great way to explore the area and have some fun all while getting a little workout. You can take a look at some of the other watersport rentals available here
Cruise The Marina
It was a beautiful day and the weather was absolutely perfect, so we took a 2 hour leisure cruise around Newport Harbor in a 21’ electric Duffy boat. This Duffy boat rental is available to rent for 2 or 4 hours and holds a max of 8 people. We enjoyed our lunch on the boat and used bluetooth to connect our phone to the speaker to listen to our own personalized playlist. We enjoyed the breeze, the stunning waterfront homes, and admiring some mega yachts. We even navigated the electric boat ourselves! The boats only go at a max speed of 5mph and are really easy to navigate! Both my husband and I took turns navigating the boat out in the harbor with absolutely no problem. You can come out to enjoy with your family or bring another family to make the rental even more budget friendly. Either way the experience is absolutely worth it. Reservations ahead of time are required and you can check availability and pricing here
Bike Rental
We rented some beach cruisers and took our bikes around the marina as well as some surrounding bike paths. This is another fun way to explore the whole resort and surrounding areas. You can rent the beach cruisers over at the Marketplace on property. Keep in mind there are no bike rentals available for the kiddos, so make sure and bring their bikes.
Playground
What kid doesn't love a playground! The pirate playground is available to both guest or day visitor at no charge.

Beachfront Dining
We had a delicious lunch from Moe B's Munchies. We ordered The Beach Burger, The Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and a Moe Burger. The burgers were made to order and incredibly delicious. We also enjoyed a signature cocktail from their bar! They had some outdoor seats but we decided to take it to go and enjoyed our lunch on our Duffy boat ride. They have plenty of other delicious selections on the menu to choose from. You can take a peek here! Keep in mind Moe B's Munchies is only open Friday -Sunday but you are free to bring your own snacks or can purchase snacks over at the Marketplace.
