North of San Diego, Ca is the coastal city of Carlsbad and the home of one of our new favorite Resorts, Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. It's luxurious, fun, and has something for everyone to enjoy. We had such a fantastic time and I'm excited for you to visit. Whether you are looking for a staycation, a family fun weekend, or a romantic couples escape, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa will not disappoint and I want to show you and tell you why.
Activities
Regardless of your reason for visiting...a staycation, family weekend, or a romantic couples weekend, who doesn't love a good pool day right? Well Omni La Costa In Carlsbad has a total of eight sparkling pools to choose from. They have heated family pools and even their adult only pool, Edge, which overlooks the golf course. For the kiddos and those young at heart, they have an awesome water play area and two 100 foot water slides. We all had so much fun enjoying the pools, playing on the slides, and followed it with an awesome relaxing lunch in their pool side cabana.
We are not golfers but if you are, you will want to hear this! The resort has a Champions Course and Legend Course for you to enjoy. They offer lessons, family rounds, and kids play free. During our stay we saw lots of people enjoying the courses and lucky for us we had a beautiful view of the golf course from our room.
Rooms
The rooms were spacious, clean and we had a beautiful view of the golf course with a door that opened to a beautiful little outdoor set up. Huge plus and something I look for all the time, the room had a mini fridge and a Keurig. The bed was very comfortable and we all had a wonderful nights rest.
Restaurants
You can't have an amazing staycations without having amazing food, wouldn't you agree? Thankfully at La Costa Resort & Spa there are several great dining options right on the property. We were lucky enough to experience most of them and everyone single one was wonderful. Huge bonus, they all have great options on the kids menu.
Bob's Steak & Chop House has some of the most amazing and tasty cuts of meat I've ever had. The restaurant is beautiful and we really enjoyed their beautiful outdoor seating area surrounded by lights and beautiful greenery.
Bar Traza, the resorts newest restaurant had a bit more casual menu but still very delicious with amazing views of the adult pool and golf course.
The Marketplace was perfect for breakfast, coffee, dessert, and for a quick grab and go lunch. Don't let the name fool you, the food options were great and we all really enjoyed the food and getting to sit outdoor surrounded by all the beautiful greenery.
I got to try the Spa Cafe...more on that included on my spa experience down below but it was amazing. The cocktails were amazing too!
Spa
Oh the Spa (insert heart eyes). I had not experienced a spa in over a year and a half and my experience was better than what I remembered. Spa La Costa was a relaxing retreat! I had a wonderful relaxation massage, sat by their private spa pools, enjoyed a cocktail and a delicious lunch from their Spa cafe ALL BY MYSELF! I felt safe, the whole area was immaculate, and the service was just as amazing as it was during the rest of our stay. They have many different services to choose from! Whatever occasion you are visiting for you can not visit without scheduling some time at Spa La Costa. The spa pools are only available for those who book a service at the spa.
Conclusion
I can't recommend this resort enough! The Spanish Mission-style resort is absolutely beautiful and huge. We definitely felt safe with its wide-open spaces, lots of outdoor activities, and absolutely no overcrowding. Also a huge bonus is their flexible cancellation policy makes it easy to cancel or reschedule if your plans change, which lets you book with peace of mind. Ready to book now?
