Huttopia Paradise Springs- Best Glamping in Los Angeles National Forest
Updated: Mar 17

Every year before school starts we head out on a camping adventure and this year would be no different. We were invited by Huttopia Paradise Springs to come experience their very first Huttopia in the West Coast and we are thrilled they did. It's a beautiful outdoor glamping resort in the heart of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles National Forest. With 150 acres to explore, there's something fun and exciting at every corner. Aside from being surrounded by unspoiled beauty, crisp mountain air and dappled sunlight, Huttopia has everything you expect from nature, while offering all the comfort of home. If you are looking for the perfect Glamping location in Southern California this is definitely it. I’m excited to share with you all about our experience during our first stay at Huttopia Paradise Springs.
Disclosure: This was a hosted stay, however all opinions and reviews are completely my own.
Lodging
They have 12 ready to camp wooden canvas tents that were absolutely perfect. There is everything you can possibly need and are so roomy. We were all highly impressed! Our tent had 2 bedrooms with the possibility to sleep 5! One with a queen bed and another with full and twin bunkbeds. Our tent had a private shower/restroom, bear safe cooler with cooling packs, dishware, cooking pans, lantern, chairs, full bbq grill, dining table with chairs and extra blankets. Not to mention electricity and a ceiling fan! It's so convenient to have everything you need while camping, without having to pack your whole house. The tent was clean and the beds were very comfy. We got amazing rest falling asleep to the sound of the forest.

As of right now 9/2021 there are 7 tents with private restrooms/showers and 5 without. If you decide to book a tent without a shower they have a bathhouse that is kept spotless.

Activities
Huttopia Paradise Springs is set in a beautiful location perfect to enjoy nature and star gaze. However, they have tons of other activities for the whole family to enjoy. They have a designated area for parking so the kiddos are free to run around and explore the camp area.
Pool- Let's start with the pool! Their larger than life spring water pool goes 3-12 feet deep and is perfect to cool off after a day of enjoying the outdoors. The picturesque backdrop is amazing, almost feels surreal. We grabbed some chairs under the bamboo covers and had an amazing time swimming and lounging in their pool floaties.

Community games- There's no need to pack any games because Huttopia has us covered. They had games like, Jenga, Cornhole, Ping Pong, soccer ball, and hula hoops. Available for all to enjoy anytime of the day. We had so much fun playing as a family and really enjoyed our time together.
S'mores Night- Every evening there is something fun planned by the Huttopia staff. For safety reasons and the fact that we were in the middle of the Los Angeles Forest we were unable to start our own fire, however, that did not stop us from having s'mores. The staff started a fire in their communal campfire and provided everything we needed for s'mores night. We enjoyed some s'mores while getting to know the staff and some of the other families camping. it was the perfect way to end our first night at the camp site.

Movie Night- Saturday night they set up an outdoor movie watching experience under the stars. We got to watch Frozen, so you know our Disney loving hearts were very happy.

Orchard- There is a small orchard where at the moment they are growing delicious apples and pears. We were allowed to freely pick and enjoy them right off the tree. Right next to the orchard is a pond that glistened beautifully as the sun was coming down.
Hiking- There are several trails in the surrounding area. We decided to walk up the camp and explore an area of wetlands and rocks. There were perfect views of the mountains and the valley. We saw some red rocks, and old zip lining area and even got to explore were Huttopia will soon be expanding too. More on that down below.

Hammocks- During our stay they installed 2 hammocks right by the community area. Hammocks are always such a relaxing treat.

Services
Cafe/bistro- We enjoyed lots of goodies from their cafe/bistro because lets be honest, I don't often cook at home so I did not want to cook while camping. They have seating in the community area where you can enjoy breakfast or dinner. One night we enjoyed crepes and on both mornings we enjoyed a french breakfast that consisted of freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly brewed coffee and some delicious croissants with jam. They also had another evening where they offered salads and taco night.

Coffee Cart- Yes, they have a coffee cart! My husband and I started our mornings with a Latte and an Americano. Nothing like enjoying a freshly brewed coffee with some beautiful views.

Camp store- My husband grilled some burgers for lunch but we forgot to bring steak sauce, salt and pepper. Luckily the camp store had everything we needed to complete our lunch and season our burgers to our liking. The camp store also has a nice seating area with some board games and books to enjoy.
Hospitality- It goes without saying that service can make and break any trip. I'm happy to report the service was amazing. Huttopia staff were very friendly and welcoming. Alexia could not leave without taking a picture with 2 of our favorites. They made us feel right at home and we can't wait to visit again.

There is free WIFI within the community area but does not reach most tents. I did not mind disconnecting for most of the day. After all, it's the perfect excuse to disconnect and enjoy nature.
What’s To Come
When chatting with the friendly staff we learned all about Huttopia's history and also got to learn a little bit of whats to come next year 2022. Huttopia will be open to the public up until October 10th 2021. After that they will close down until the summer of 2022, so we are extremely happy we got to have a sneak peek this year. Next years grand re-opening will have several new additions. Things like a pizza oven, a kids playground and they are even expanding! At the moment they have 12 signature wood/canvas tents but they will soon be able to accommodate more visitors. This and a few more surprises are in store! We definitely plan to visit next summer to experience first hand all the new additions.

In conclusion, It’s safe to say we had an amazing stay and can’t recommend Huttopia Paradise Springs enough. We absolutely plan to visit again and look forward to another fun summer getaway in 2022.
